Extension to Gasification Filtration Contract

Porvair Filtration Group (UK) has announced that it has been awarded a further extension to its existing contract with Reliance Industries, announced in February 2013.

In a second extension to the contract for gasification filtration, Reliance Industries has ordered further filtration modules, increasing the scope of the project by a quarter. Andy Bevis, Head of Process Technology at Porvair commented "Work is underway on the contract and we are nearing completion of the design phase”.

India's largest private sector enterprise, Reliance Industries Limited selected Porvair Filtration Group to design and build char filtration systems for the gasification plant at Jamnagar, as part of the J3 expansion project. The value of the contract awarded to Porvair is undisclosed for commercial reasons, but manufacturing will take place over the next 18 months. Reliance's Jamnagar site is the largest oil refining complex in the world, with an aggregate refining capacity of 1.3 million barrels of oil per day. The completed gasification facility at Jamnagar will be the largest in the world and will process petroleum coke and coal into synthesis gas using E-Gas technology licensed from Lummus Technology, the technology group of CB&I.
