Smart Design, Low Pressure Dosing Pump

Jul 21 2010

Tube loading in less than one minute is one the main benefits of the new Verderflex® Smart S10 low pressure, dosing peristaltic pump. The easy fit tube saddle is designed for single handed operation and is based on the design of a ski boot fastener, allowing the tube to be loaded quickly and easily from above.

The Smart S10 is ideal for handling viscous, abrasive and chemically aggressive media. It ensures total containment and leak-free pumping. Three models provide a choice of control options allowing the Smart S10 to be programmed with different functions. It can therefore be operated either manually, remotely or through a pre-programmed control system.

The ergonomics of the Smart S10 are particularly noteworthy. The illuminated central display is easy to read from all angles and the menu has been designed for simple and logical navigation. As there is no pump head restricting access to the keypad it can be easily used by left and right-handed people and the buttons are large enough to be pressed by an operator wearing gloves.

Flow rates from the Smart S10 pump head are 15.5 – 1,706 ml/min per channel, with working pressures of up to 2 bar, depending on the tube size and material being used. Verder market a wide variety of tubes in a range of standard materials, diameters and thicknesses; special tubes are also available.

In common with other pumps in the Verdeflex® OEM range, the Smart series allows up to four pump heads on a single drive. This enables several lines to be operated from the same pump; extended feet keep the pump stable. This unique flexibility also allows the flow to be split between two channels if the application calls for a significant reduction in pulsation.

The pump head is manufactured from chemically resistant polymer and the control unit is housed in a robust IP55 rated powder coated aluminium housing. This product is supplied with a three roller head as standard and also an SSD safety interlock to stop the drive whenever the saddle is opened or removed.
