Greenstone Carbon Management (UK), a specialist carbon solution company, has announced today the release of version 2.5 of its Acco2unt carbon management software, which includes new functionality to enable organisations to measure the energy consumption and carbon emissions arising from the use of ICT equipment across organisations.

Greenstone’s software solution, Acco2unt, has been enhanced with a new ICT footprinting capability which covers more equipment types such as servers, desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, network, telephony, imaging and Audio Visual devices. Energy consumption is calculated using a combination of power rating and live, standby and sleep time from each equipment type. The carbon emissions associated with the energy consumption from hardware can then be calculated more accurately by organisations on a single system and according to Defra and GHG Protocol methodologies.

Acco2unt 2.5 also includes enhancements to the automatic receiving of business data from clients’ internal and third party systems, the addition of regional Canadian electricity emission factors and further development of the analysis dashboards.
