The PortAventura theme park and vacation resort on Spain’s sunny Costa Dorada has selected CSO Technik’s (UK) Terminodour system to provide odour abatement for a sewage wet well on the site.
The PortAventura resort, near Salou, incorporates three hotels and two theme parks catering for more than 4 million visitors a year. Among the many attractions at the resort is Europe’s biggest roller coaster. The Terminodour system is being used to prevent odour egress from an underground sewage wet well. The Terminodour unit oxidises the odours beneath the covers, using active oxygen molecules (ions) eliminating any potential for odour nuisance. CSO Technik guarantees that the Terminodour system will remove 99% of odours in this type of application. Although activated carbon was being considered for this project the client eventually decided to opt for Terminodour based on the competitiveness of the product and the longer term environmental benefits as it does not have any media to replace or dispose of. In fact the Terminodour system does not use any water or chemicals either. Power costs are significantly lower as the fan sizes are smaller as the system has much lower pressure drops than those presented by carbon media, making the Terminodour system one of the most environmentally friendly odour abatement systems available..jpg)
