A Barcelona-based company, Zonair3D, believes that it has the answer to the scarily high levels of air pollution in the world.

At the moment when we breathe in, not only do we take oxygen into our lungs - we inhale a mixture of bacteria, pollution, allergens and viruses, all of which can contribute to a poor respiratory system and general ill health.

This new product gets rid of all of this pollution by purifying the air.

"A turbine sits on top of the building sucking the air through three filters, each of which rids it of unwanted gases and particles, before pumping the fresh stuff back in. If you work in a huge office block with multiple businesses, it can also be installed on a false ceiling, so that your floor can breathe easy," reports the London Evening Standard.

It is believed that the benefits of breathing in such pure air include increased health and even looking younger.

The product is already being trialled at top end businesses in Madrid where it has received great reviews.

Many individuals, as well as those who work for the company itself, hope that the product will revolutionise the future.

Currently, millions across the world suffer from asthma - a condition worsened by high levels of air pollution.

This invention could prohibit the ever-increasing numbers of sufferers from reaching even more worrying heights.

"Breathing air with such minimal levels of particulates and biological agents reduces the risk of suffering from clinical pathologies that are linked to environmental pollution," says a Zonair3D spokesperson.

"By reducing one’s exposure to these compounds, one also reduces the risk of suffering their consequences."

This may make you want to breathe a sigh of relief, but before you do… hold your breath.

The cost is less then pleasing, with the installation costing £50 per square metre to install (so £500,000 for a 10,000 sq m office).
