Whether in overflow basins or pumping stations, whether water levels in rivers or sewer networks, in the complex world of wastewater treatment, accurate measurement of level and pressure plays a crucial role.

It’s a job for VEGA sensors: reliable measuring results and maintenance-free operation combined with simple handling and cost-effectiveness greatly simplify the everyday work of clarification plant

operators worldwide. Discover how VEGA measurement technology sets new standards, even under extreme conditions.

Robust, non-contact level measurement with VEGAPULS radar sensors

In wastewater treatment, moisture, temperature changes, buildup or fermentation gases pose major challenges for level measuring instruments.

Ultrasonic sensors, which were previously the first choice due to their low price, reach their limits in this area of application at the expense of performance.

The compact radar sensors of the VEGAPULS 10, 20 and 30 series are not only comparable to ultrasonic sensors in terms of price but also offer outstanding accuracy and robustness as well as freedom from maintenance, regardless of the ambient conditions.

The alternative to radar: hydrostatic pressure measurement

An alternative solution to level measurement with radar sensors is the VEGAWELL 52 hydrostatic pressure transmitter with ceramic measuring cell.

Thanks to its overload and vacuum resistance, it offers maximum measurement certainty for control and regulation tasks.

The robust housing and cable design make the pressure transmitter extremely versatile.

Compact pressure sensors for wastewater applications

The compact pressure sensors of VEGABAR series 10, 20 and 30 round out VEGA’s sensor portfolio for wastewater management.

VEGABAR 38, for example, measures overpressure, absolute pressure or differential pressure of gases, liquids and steam.

Its large display with plain text offers excellent readability. The multi-colour, 360° status display ensures that the switching state and operating status are quickly recognised.

Especially practical: The sensor can be easily put into operation with a smartphone, tablet or PC.

Controllers and display instruments for level sensors

Levels not only have to be measured, but also transmitted to the operator of the facility.

Here too, VEGA favours simplicity. With VEGAMET controllers, values can be read out directly on site: from pump controls, flow measuring devices on open channels or weirs and totalisers, or from difference, sum and average value calculations.

Preconfigured applications and functions are integrated to ensure user-friendly setup.
