Designed as a complete, fully integrated solution for fish silage production, Landia has launched the highly innovative PowerEnsiler – a next-generation fish silage system engineered for demanding aquaculture, fish farming, seafood processing and by-product recovery operations where hygiene, reliability and process stability are critical.
Developed from Landia's extensive hands-on experience within the global aquaculture sector, the PowerEnsiler provides a robust, intelligent and automated approach to fish ensiling, ensuring consistent, high-quality silage production while reducing operational complexity and maintenance requirements.
The system has been specifically designed to deliver fast and efficient product flow, integrated cutting and maceration, precise acid dosing, and reliable mixing performance. All functions are controlled through a single, user-friendly control system that manages both the ensiling tank and storage tank, providing operators with complete process oversight and control.
The superior hygiene-focused design of the Landia PowerEnsiler ensures maximum biosecurity.
With biosecurity and hygiene at the forefront of its design, the PowerEnsiler features a superior cleanability-focused construction that helps minimise contamination risks and maintain optimal silage quality throughout the production process. This makes it particularly well-suited for fish farms, hatcheries, seafood processing plants and facilities handling fish by-products.
A key advantage of the PowerEnsiler is that all critical components are manufactured by Landia, a company established in 1933 with decades of expertise in pumping, mixing and processing technologies. By sourcing the complete system from a single manufacturer, customers benefit from full compatibility, simplified servicing, transparent accountability and long-term operational reliability.
The new Landia PowerEnsiler will produce a unformed, homogenous, pumpable and valuable silage.
The PowerEnsiler is available in tank capacities ranging from 1m³ to 25m³, allowing operators to scale production according to their requirements. Tanks can be supplied in durable polyethylene (PE) or acid-resistant AISI 316 stainless steel, with ATEX-approved configurations available for installations operating in hazardous environments.
At the heart of the system is the proven Landia Chopper Pump – the world's first chopper pump, originally invented by Landia in 1950. Manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel, the pump is specifically designed to withstand the corrosive conditions and low pH levels typically associated with fish silage production.
The highly efficient knife system of the Landia Chopper Pump eliminates the need for separate external grinders, reducing equipment costs and simplifying installation. Its powerful cutting action continuously macerates fish heads, bones, skin, guts and other fish by-products into a uniform, homogenous and pumpable silage.
The resulting fish silage is a valuable, nutrient-rich product that can be utilised as a sustainable high-protein ingredient in animal feed production or as an organic liquid fertiliser, helping fish processors and aquaculture operators maximise resource utilisation while supporting circular economy principles and reducing waste.
By combining pumping, chopping, mixing, storage and process control into a single integrated package, the Landia PowerEnsiler sets a new benchmark for efficient, hygienic and reliable fish silage production.
