Degrémont (France) has won the contract for design, construction and commissioning of a 1,000 m3 per day wastewater membrane filtration system, SmartRackTM, for Thales Australia at its Mulwala facility in New South Wales.

Covered by five patents, SmartRackTM uses a novel rack system that allows complete interchangeability of ultrafiltration membrane modules, through an innovative proprietary design of Degrémont. This solution allows complete flexibility and scalability for future needs, and can be implemented for drinking water production, desalination, industrial process water, wastewater treatment and reuse.

This reference contract will offer significant opportunities for the roll-out of this technology in Australia, and in the rest of the world.
