Two centuries of dedication from just 12 employees at pump manufacturer Landia UK

A remarkable milestone has been reached at Landia UK, where just 12 dedicated employees have collectively contributed 200 years of service to the company.

As Landia celebrates 75 years since the invention of the world’s first Chopper Pump, Operations Executive Liz Robinson leads the way. A cornerstone of the company since its UK launch, Liz worked alongside the late and much-respected Hugh Vaughan on day one.

Among the team’s longest-serving members is Dave Baldock, a Senior Mechanical Engineer whose 27 years at the Shropshire-based company have been spent largely behind the scenes. Also marking a major milestone is Paul Broadhurst, the widely respected Technical Projects Manager, who has reached 25 years of service.

Key Account Manager Paul Davies brings 23 years of experience to his role, closely followed by Senior Technical Engineer Tony Challinor, who has dedicated 19 years to Landia.

Technical Sales Engineer Howard Burton, known for his energy and enthusiasm, has been with the company for 13 years. Service and Aftersales Manager Tamas Rieder, known for his attention to detail, has contributed 10 years of service.

Between them, Senior Mechanical Engineers Kieran Hilton and Jack Foster have accumulated 24 years at Landia, both having started their careers through the company’s successful apprenticeship program. Fellow apprentice-turned-Technical Sales Engineer Josh Edge has been with the company for 11 years.

Also celebrating long service are Dave Thomas (Service & After Sales Administrator) and recently appointed Office Manager Sam Smith, each with 9 years under their belts.

Reflecting on this achievement, Liz Robinson said: “Two hundred years of service from just a dozen people speaks volumes about the culture and stability at Landia UK. We’re passionate about developing new talent, and the success stories of Josh, Jack and Kieran—who all started as apprentices—highlight the fulfilling, long-term careers we offer.”

She added: “From our dedicated team in the Whitchurch office to the hardworking sales and service engineers in the field, we’re immensely proud of this 200-year landmark.”
