Pumping equipment made by Borger is set to complete five years of service at Sandringham, the much-loved country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen, and private home of four generations of British monarchs since 1862.

A Borger PL100 Classic Maintenance in Place (MIP) Pump with optimum rotors, which was supplied & installed by Borger UK in 2009, has been operating on the 8000-hectare Estate’s treatment works 24/7.  It has to deal with large fluctuations in flow and waste to cope with the wide range of popular events at Sandringham that include Spring and Christmas Fairs, as well as driving trials for horses and riders.  The Estate also has a thriving visitor centre and restaurant, a Caravan Club site and a Camping and Caravanning Club site.

Powered by a 2.2kW Variable Speed Leroy Somer Varmeca Drive, the Borger PL200 pumps re-activated sludge with a heavy rag content, as Sandringham’s Building Surveyor, Andrew Holt explains:

“The Borger Pump has proved very reliable and is certainly put through its paces.  We’ve been very impressed with its performance these past five years”.
