02 Jul, 2026

AtkinsRéalis, a leading global engineering services and nuclear company, has appointed Ian Dyck as its new Global Market Lead – Water, reinforcing the company's commitment to expanding its presence in the rapidly growing global water infrastructure market.

The appointment comes as governments, utilities and industry stakeholders worldwide increase investment in water security, water quality improvement, climate resilience and critical water infrastructure upgrades. Demand for innovative water solutions continues to rise as communities face challenges related to ageing infrastructure, population growth and environmental sustainability.

As one of AtkinsRéalis’ core business sectors, the company’s water expertise spans strategic planning and advisory services, engineering design, programme and project management, digital water solutions, asset optimisation and long-term infrastructure performance.

AtkinsRéalis has delivered major water projects across multiple regions, including large-scale wastewater treatment and capital investment programmes in North America, flood resilience and water management initiatives in the United States and Australia, and the landmark Thames Tideway Tunnel project in the UK, one of Europe’s largest wastewater infrastructure programmes.

In his new role, Ian Dyck will focus on expanding AtkinsRéalis’ global water capabilities, strengthening client partnerships and developing innovative delivery models that support the successful execution of complex, large-scale water and wastewater programmes.

Kate Kenny, Chief Growth Officer at AtkinsRéalis, said:

“AtkinsRéalis has the multidisciplinary expertise and global reach needed to help clients navigate increasingly complex challenges and deliver critical infrastructure projects.

“Water is one of our most important growth markets, driven by rising global demand and significant investment across the sector. Utilities and governments are modernising ageing water infrastructure, improving water quality, adopting digital technologies and strengthening resilience to climate-related risks.

“Ian will play a key role in bringing together our global water expertise to help clients deliver major programmes at scale while building long-term strategic partnerships. His leadership will support AtkinsRéalis as the water sector continues to experience substantial growth, investment and innovation.”

Ian Dyck joins AtkinsRéalis from AECOM, where he led the company’s Canadian water business for seven years, driving operational performance and sustained growth. Based in Calgary, Canada, he began his career in engineering design before progressing into senior leadership positions with professional services firms Matrix Solutions and Worley, gaining extensive experience in water infrastructure, environmental services and major capital project delivery.

His appointment further strengthens AtkinsRéalis’ leadership team as the company continues to expand its role in delivering sustainable, resilient and future-ready water infrastructure solutions worldwide.
