Aquarion Group (Aquarion AG), a leading provider of advanced water systems, solutions and technologies for the oil & gas industry, the energy sector and other process industries, announces the acquisition of Membran-Filtrations-Technik (MFT) GmbH.

Based in Cologne, Germany, MFT designs, manufactures and services membrane equipment for potable, process and pure water production, brackish and seawater desalination, wastewater treatment, and water recycling/reuse.

MFT’s technology portfolio includes microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis systems. Its membrane filtration systems come in a wide range of types of configurations, ranging from tubular and hollow fiber modules to ceramic, plate and frame, and spiral wound modules.

The company is well known for its technology innovations. Its patented Circular Disc (CD) Module, an optimized membrane module, is used for wastewater treatment and reuse, produced water treatment and Zero Liquid Discharge. MFT is recognised as one of the leading companies for leachate treatment by using the CD Module.

MFT’s deep experience is reflected in its reference list that spans a wide array of industries including oil and gas, power generation, food and beverage manufacturing, and heavy manufacturing.

“The acquisition of MFT further strengthens Aquarion’s position as a leader in the membrane technology sector, expanding our membrane technology development capabilities and building on the solid membrane technology platform provided by Hager+Elsaessar, one of our flagship companies,” said Karl Michael Millauer, CEO of Aquarion Group.

Headed by Managing Directors Frank Jacobs and Andreas Flach, MFT’s management team will remain in place. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
