Turnkey Solutions for Effective and Reliable Clarifiers

The water treatment industry relies on clarifers or settlement tanks to remove a significant amount of solids as part of the process to recycle our water supply. A&J Fabtech has the ability to design, manufacture and install a wide variety of clarifers that provide a cost effective and reliable solution for the industry.

The investment in large infrastructure, such as clarifying equipment, is the result of considerable planning and preparation so site managers need to be certain that such projects will be delivered on time and to budget. In addition, the final design needs to be robust and dependable, backed by the reassurance of continued maintenance and technical support.

A&J Fabtech has 40 years’ experience in delivering large scale manufacturing projects to the water industry and as such understands and appreciates the importance of project delivery. The in-house design team can offer a wide range of solutions for clarifers, each one tailored to suit the requirements of a particular installation.

As a turnkey solution provider, A&J Fabtech can offer a complete specification service that includes all the necessary features for the clarifier, especially the scraper bridge and scum removal systems. Bridges can be half, three-quarter or full bridge designs depending on the application and each one can be fitted with a range of equipment.

While most clarifer tanks are circular, rectangular tanks can be designed as well, with most being built using steel reinforced concrete. The depth and slope of the floor can be specified to suit each application with the emphasis on ensuring reliable performance throughout the service life of the clarifier.

All bridges manufactured by A&J Fabtech are modular in design which enables rapid design and build phases using proven manufacturing processes. This also minimises the build time on site and helps to ensure every project meets the delivery deadline.

Every clarifier can be specified with a wide range of options with regards to access structures, control systems and fault detection as well as various design features aimed at reducing maintenance requirements.

Bridge scraper designs can include advanced features such as sludge blank detection equipment, torque monitoring equipment, drive carriage obstruction detectors and other instrumentation. With these functions, A&J Fabtech bridge scrapers achieve the highest possible levels of operational availability and optimal return on investment.

In order to optimise the settlement of suspended solids, A&J Fabtech offers a range of control baffles for the scraper bridge including diffuser drums, Stamford baffles, McKinney baffles and energy dissipating inlet baffles. Coupled with an effective scum collection system, modern clarifier tanks can offer effective and reliable performance.

Once a new installation has been commissioned it is expected to deliver ongoing reliability and A&J Fabtech is also able to support all of its equipment in the field with a proactive maintenance regime. Experienced field support engineers can inspect and maintain all aspects of the company’s clarifers to ensure continued reliable operation.
