Removing dissolved CO2 from water deionisation systems is a common practice to reduce the load on resin beds or to improve water quality before EDI. However, resin bed regeneration, chemical use and water use can add up to be significant operating costs.

The new Liqui-Cel® Membrane Decarbonator skid can reduce these costs by extending the life of ion exchange beds and minimizing or eliminating the need to use, handle and store chemicals. Customers could also realise a reduction in water use associated with rinsing and increase in service life of mixed beds resulting in rapid payback. In EDI systems the membrane decarbonator removes dissolved CO2 to enhance operating efficiency and improve outlet water quality.
