Valmet has received an order from Suomen Biovoima Oy to deliver a Valmet DNAe Distributed Control System (DCS) for a CO₂ liquefaction plant at Auris Energia's biogas facility in Mäntsälä, Finland. It will be the first plant of its kind built in Finland using this technology.
The project represents a concrete step in the green transition, enabling carbon capture and utilisation directly at the biogas site. CO₂ generated as a byproduct of biogas production will no longer be released into the atmosphere. Instead, Suomen Biovoima's technology will capture, purify, and liquefy the gas for reuse in industrial applications such as concrete production, where it becomes permanently bound into building materials. By converting emissions into a usable raw material, the solution supports the circular economy and lowers the carbon footprint of energy production.

The Valmet DNAe system supports Suomen Biovoima and plant owner-operator Auris Energia in improving resource efficiency — putting one of the cornerstones of Valmet's strategy into practice at the customer site.
With advanced process control and real-time visibility, the system enables more efficient use of energy, raw materials, and personnel. Automated controls reduce the need for manual intervention, while robust security features support unmanned plant operation. The system also strengthens reporting and transparency, helping operators optimise performance and maintain consistent product quality.

Together, we create real added value for Auris Energia's biogas plant. The solution will enable secure data transfer, monitoring, and reporting of plant status and KPIs to Auris Energia. The system is designed with a long service life in mind. Beyond the initial delivery, Valmet supports customers through ongoing services, system development, and upgrades — keeping the plant efficient and competitive over time. This lifecycle approach helps customers adapt to evolving requirements, continuously improve performance, and maximise return on investment.
Delivery will proceed in phases: the main system delivery is scheduled for November 2026, installation for December 2026, and start-up is expected in the first quarter of 2027. The order is included in Valmet's orders received in the second quarter of 2026. The value of the order has not been disclosed.
