Chopper pumps enhancing wastewater treatment processes for the food industry.

Landia has secured significant new contracts within the food industry for its Chopper Pumps, aimed at enhancing wastewater treatment processes.
In northern England, a family-owned business specializing in authentic Halal foods, particularly small starter portions and snacks, is set to install two 7.5kW Landia Chopper Pumps. These pumps will be placed in an end-of-process tank to continuously reduce the size of solids.
Meanwhile, in the Midlands, a major player in the prepared main-meal and plant-based food sectors has placed a repeat order for four 18.5kW Landia Chopper Pumps. These new units will replace existing pumps from another manufacturer, which have been prone to blockages and subsequent downtime.
In the South West of England, a leading dessert manufacturer has ordered two 5.5kW Landia Chopper Pumps. Known for their efficiency in handling effluent containing problematic solids, these pumps also boast low energy consumption.
Howard Burton, Technical Sales at Landia UK, stated, "The demand for our proven Chopper Pump, first invented by Landia in 1950, remains robust. It’s a long-lasting, straightforward piece of engineering that performs reliably. The food industry's interest has surged recently, emphasizing the importance of total cost of ownership."
In addition to these new orders, Landia has successfully installed its Chopper Pumps at various companies. Notable examples include Deeside Cereals, where the Chopper Pump was integral to a new AirJet aeration system, and Timothy Taylor's brewery, which adopted the AirJet system to enhance agitation in a balance tank, ensuring solids remain in suspension.
