5th International Symposium and Exhibition on Mechanical-Biological Waste Treatment (MBT / AWT), Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) and Recycling

Waste-to-Resources is one of the world’s leading conferences on MBT and MRF. The previous conferences had participants from about 40 countries each. On three days experts from nearly 20 countries will present their practical experiences and new developments. Key aspects of the current programme are as follows:

11th of June: General topics, strategies, different waste treatment technologies, international application of MBT

12th of June: New and future developments and optimisation of MBT, mechanical treatment and sorting

13th of June: Emissions, operational experiences, MBT concepts and international aspects

14th of June: Site visit of Waste Management Centre Pohlsche Heide (MBT with partial flow anaerobic dry digestion, Composting and tunnel anaerobic dry digestion plant for organic waste), CReED (Center for Research, Education and Demonstration in Waste Management), small sized industrial RDF combined heat and power plant Minden, Material Recovery Facility Porta Westfalica.

In the week before the conference, a 2 day introduction seminar to MBT is available on the 6th and 7th of June.

Waste-to-Resources 2013 takes place in Hannover, Germany. It is held under patronage of the German minister of environment, Peter Altmaier. The event is organised by Wasteconsult International (Germany) and the association of German MBT operators (ASA). On the 3 conference days there will be continuous simultaneous translation provided. Hence, it will be possible to hear all presentations in English, German, French and Spanish.
