Recycling Technologies Appoints Two New Non-Executive Directors

Mar 20 2018

Recycling Technologies Ltd, specialists in the chemical recycling of plastics, today announced two new additions to its leadership board. Nicola Frayne, Chief People Officer at Bill’s Restaurants and Stephen Hodges, Director at Haggai Project Services Ltd, both join as non-executive board directors, effective immediately.

Nicola brings with her a wealth of human resources experience and strong leadership skills. Previous roles include Group HR Director for Whistl and Group HR Director of Unite Plc, a FTSE250 company, where she was a member of the senior management team during a rapid expansion of the business. Stephen has vast experience in the waste industry and spent more than 15 years in Viridor as Director of Engineering. Stephen, alongside running his own consultancy, is an associate at Carbon Limiting Technologies Ltd, where he advises on investments to commercialise innovative new technologies in the green energy sector.

New appointee, Nicola Frayne has spent the last nine years in senior human resources roles focusing onrecruitment, employee engagement, organisational development and corporate social responsibility. An inspiring motivator, Nicola has a diverse leadership background spanning sales, operations, and human resources. Nicola comments, “I joined the board because of the people I met. When I met CEO Adrian Griffiths and visited Recycling Technologies’ pilot plant and met other members of the team, I knew I wanted to do more to help stop waste entering the world’s oceans. At Bill’s Restaurants, we have cut plastic straws from our restaurants but not all plastic is avoidable such as the plastic that protects our food and makes our cars lighter. For this, we need great developments such as the chemical recycling of plastic to enable us all to recycle our plastic waste with confidence at home.”

Stephen Hodges has worked extensively in recycling, resource recovery, mining and environmental industries. He is currently a director at Haggai Project Services which provides client side support with capital project and contract management. Stephen comments: “I am very excited to be involved in this pioneering organisation; one that is fast gaining recognition in the UK and around the world. I believe my experience within waste management, recycling and renewable energy will add value to an incredibly experienced leadership team. Recycling Technologies has an unrivalled opportunity to resolve problems of retaining difficult to recycle plastic in the chain of utility. Recycling Technologies addresses the issues facing the waste plastics sector with an innovative and commercially attractive solution to recycle more plastic waste and which can scale rapidly.”

Adrian Griffiths, CEO, Recycling Technologies comments: “We are thrilled to have Nicola and Stephen on the board. Their expertise will prove invaluable to our longer-term strategies for the growth and development ofRecycling Technologies and to our current commercialisation and recruitment phases. We are committed to be proud of not only what we do to recycle more plastic waste, but the values which we uphold in taking our business forward.”
