STORTEC secures major biogas contract in Australia
Jul 01 2025
STORTEC Engineering, a specialist in liquid storage, biogas, and mechanical systems, has secured a significant contract to design and construct digesters and a hydrolysis tank for a new food-waste-to-energy facility in Australia.
The project will feature STORTEC’s Ultrastore stainless steel tanks, known for their durability and sustainability. These tanks are built using cutting-edge material selection, with more than 85% made from recycled content—delivering extended asset life and strong environmental credentials.
Each of the 4,000m³ anaerobic digesters will be equipped with Landia’s GasMix system, a reliable, externally mounted mixing solution already proven effective at a similar site near Perth, Western Australia.
For the hydrolysis tank, STORTEC has chosen Landia’s JetMix system, specifically designed with custom nozzles to handle food waste with a dry solids content of 16% and a pH range of 5 to 8.
“This major order reflects the growing global demand for our sustainable, forward-thinking technologies,” said Matt Dickinson, Managing Director of STORTEC. “Our unique model allows us to act as a design and manufacturing partner, a turnkey solution provider, or a principal contractor—always collaborating closely with our supply chain to deliver top-tier results.”
Dickinson added: “Our customers expect robust, low-maintenance equipment for effective tank mixing. That’s why we have complete confidence in Landia’s pumps and mixers for this project.”
In addition to the biogas and anaerobic digestion sector, both STORTEC and Landia also serve the water, wastewater, agricultural, and broader industrial markets—providing long-lasting, high-performance solutions across industries.
