Chopper pumps from Landia (Denmark) have completed over 10 years of service for Castle Environmental, the independent waste management company who specialise in neutralising and dewatering hazardous waste acids and alkalis.

The stainless steel MPTK chopper pumps from Landia, which also have specially coated nitrile seals, are installed in a 30m3 below-ground reception vessel that receives chemical and industrial hazardous waste from incoming tanker deliveries.

“We certainly chose the right pumps,” said Rob Cowley from Castle Environmental.

“This is a very arduous application for any pump, with solids in the reception tank also testing their endurance and capability. Apart from routine maintenance, we’ve never had any major problems. Landia’s chopper pumps have served us very well – and we get good back up service too”.

Castle Environmental, who offer a nationwide service for the collection and safe disposal of industrial and commercial chemical wastes, first introduced Landia’s pumps in 2002.
