Der Grüne Punkt appoints Eline Stiphout as head of renewing

Der Grüne Punkt has named Eline Stiphout as its new Head of Renewing, effective May 1, 2025. In this role, she will oversee the strategic and commercial direction of the company’s mechanical recycling division and report directly to CEO Mark Vester.

Stiphout takes on responsibility for advancing Der Grüne Punkt’s mechanical recycling operations, with a strong focus on expanding and enhancing the company’s facilities in Hörstel and Eisfeld, as well as its production sites in Italy. She leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to reinforcing the entire recycling value chain.

With a master’s degree in strategic management and extensive experience across all stages of plastic recycling—from collection and sorting to reuse—Stiphout brings deep industry knowledge and leadership expertise. A central part of her mandate will be the development of innovative, customer-centric products based on high-quality recyclates derived from polypropylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Her efforts will contribute to meeting the goals of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which promotes recycled materials in packaging and supports a functioning circular economy.

“Eline Stiphout is a respected figure in the plastics recycling industry,” said CEO Mark Vester. “Her innovative mindset and commercial acumen will strengthen our mechanical recycling business. We see tremendous potential in producing premium recyclates that reduce dependence on fossil-based plastics—fully aligned with European sustainability targets.”

The recycling plants in Hörstel and Eisfeld, operating under the Systalen® brand, along with the Italian facilities, are key assets in Der Grüne Punkt’s mechanical recycling portfolio. These sites transform post-consumer plastics into high-quality recyclates used in diverse applications, including packaging and technical components. Under Stiphout’s leadership, the company aims to enhance commercial performance and drive continuous improvement.

“Upgrading and expanding our recycling sites is critical to resource conservation and climate protection,” said Stiphout. “I’m excited to collaborate with our local teams to foster innovation and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.”

Stiphout’s appointment highlights Der Grüne Punkt’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainability with business innovation across the plastic recycling value chain.
