IE expo (China) opens its gates at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in a few days, and it is already clear that it will be an important event for politicians at the national and international level. Besides Feng Zhonghua, Deputy Director of the Housing and Urban Ministry of Construction that is responsible for investments in environmental technology, Dr. Marcel Huber, the Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Public Health, is expected at this year’s IE expo (May 13 – 15). In addition, several national and international ministries are involved in the extensive supporting program at IE expo.

Feedback from participating companies is also extremely positive. All in all, more than 800 exhibitors from 29 countries are participating in Asia’s most important trade fair for environmental technology. They include a number of industry giants such as Aerzen International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., ANDRITZ (China) Ltd., Eriez Magnetics, GEA Westfalia Separator (Tianjin) Co. Ltd., Grundfos Pump (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Haarslev, Huber Se, Komptech GmbH, Metso Denmark A/S, Norres Industrial Hoses(Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Water AVK Valves Co., Ltd., Tianjin Baili Sun Environmental Protection Equipment, TITECH  China, VAG water system (taicang) Co., Ltd., Veolia Environment Services China, Xylem Analytics, and Yangzhou Muyang Environmental Protection Equipment and Engineering Co., Ltd.

Renewed strong interest from abroad is also encouraging: A total of eight countries – i.e. Austria, China, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Korea, Switzerland and the United States – are organising joint pavilions at this year’s fair.

However, the number of international participants is not the only remarkable aspect of IE expo. So is the supporting program: With more than 200 lecturers and events, the program is more extensive than ever. As a result, IE expo underscores yet again its claim to be China and Asia’s most important trade fair for environmental technology.
