Agilyx and INEOS Styrolution are making progress in the development of a TruStyrenyx™ chemical recycling facility in Channahon, Illinois. The facility, which is a partnership between Agilyx, Technip Energies, and INEOS Styrolution, will be capable of processing up to 100 tons of polystyrene waste per day. The TruStyrenyx process will recycle the polystyrene waste back into a high purity styrene monomer that can be used to produce new food-grade plastic products or packaging. The final stage of design and engineering work is expected to be completed in 2023, which will serve as the basis for constructing the facility. The collaboration between Agilyx, Technip Energies, and INEOS Styrolution is expected to increase polystyrene recycling rates in the United States, meet the growing demand for recycled plastics, and promote sustainability.
