British Water Hosts Hydraulic Fracturing Workshops at WWEM

Sep 27 2016

British Water is partnering with Cranfield University to host a series of technical workshops on monitoring for hydraulic fracturing applications. The workshops will take place at the Water Wastewater & Environmental Monitoring (WWEM) conference and exhibition in Telford on 2-3 November 2016.

The workshops will be facilitated by Dr Frederic Coulon, senior lecturer in environmental technology at Cranfield University, and Tom Williams, director at Enebio and convenor of the British Water Extractive Industries Focus Group. They are aimed at delegates wishing to discuss developments in environmental and process control monitoring applicable to unconventional gas extraction.

British Water Technical Director Marta Perez said, “These facilitated workshops will help delegates acquire a clearer understanding of available monitoring techniques in onshore gas extraction. They are commercially focused and should identify gaps in knowledge and valuable research and development opportunities.”

The paired sessions will run on both days to maximise flexibility for participants at this leading water industry event. They cover introductory basic concepts and international experience and will provide a unique opportunity for high-level discussion and networking. British Water will also be at stand 6 for futher information and enquiries.
