New Pumps for Increased Efficiency, Performance and Savings

Oct 30 2015

Xylem Inc. (Kuala Lumpur), a global leader in water technologies, today launched its Lowara e-range of energy-efficient, heavy-duty pumps to meet the dynamic water management needs of Malaysian commercial building services, municipal markets, as well as the agricultural, industrial, and water transport industries.

Ministry of International Trade and Industry secretary general, Tan Sri Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria, officiated the launch at Sunway Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya. Xylem’s Regional Managing Director of Greater Asia, Mr. Ramesh Nuggihalli, said in his speech, “Xylem's Lowara product line offers easily selectable, high-performance system solutions that reduce energy use. We constantly ensure our customers have access to products that can improve overall system efficiency and lower operational costs."

He continued, "In tropical Asia, air-conditioning systems and process applications within the building services and industrial markets can account for a significant chunk of monthly energy consumption. Lowara's new e-range of pumps offers optimum efficiency and top-notch performance to help reduce operational costs."

Lowara’s new e-range, featuring the e-NSC high performance end-suction pumps, the e-LNE vertical in-line pumps, and the e-SH stainless steel end-suction pumps, provides optimised hydraulic coverage, easier specification, greater reliability, and faster lead times with strong pre- and post-sales support.

Additionally, the Lowara e-range, powered by IE3 high-efficiency motors that contribute to a Minimum Efficiency Index (MEI) rating of 0.4 that fully complies with the European Union’s ErP 2015 legislative update, offers substantial energy savings of up to 23 percent from the outgoing range.

For enhanced energy efficiency, Lowara’s e-range of pumps can be configured with an optional Xylem Hydrovar variable-speed drive. The motor-mounted, space-saving Hydrovar is ‘plug-and-play’ and can be retrofitted to existing pumps. By automatically adjusting operating speeds to optimize pumping system efficiency, Hydrovar-equipped systems can achieve additional savings in energy costs of up to 70 percent.

The Lowara e-range has been successfully employed in a variety of applications around the world, including Russia’s Moscow University Library (HVAC pump station), Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (water pumps), and Portugal’s four-star H2otel (water supply, firefighting, HVAC, water treatment and drainage). Closer to home, some notable implementations of Lowara’s earlier booster-pump solutions can be found in Sibu University, Bintulu Prison, and the Dewan Undangan Negeri of Sarawak.

Xylem Malaysia presently employs a diversified network of distributors to market Lowara’s solutions nationwide, including Eik Seng Machinery Sdn Bhd (Northern Region), Amatech Engineering Sdn Bhd (Central Region, including Kuala Lumpur and Selangor), Bleswin Sdn Bhd (Sarawak), CS Power Sdn Bhd (Sabah), and Kim Maa Engineering Sdn Bhd (Southern Region).
