Biological Treatment and Recycling Facility Set to Expand in Support of Landfill Diversion Initiatives by Local Authorities

New Earth Solutions (UK) biological treatment and recycling facility in Poole, England is set to expand in response to an increased demand for the processing of mixed municipal household waste, including kitchen scraps and cardboard, via bio stabilisation and mechanical recovery
(MBS) technologies.
The existing facility, which is being expanded in order to process 50,000 tonnes per annum of municipal and commercial waste, will be extended to provide an additional 2100m2 floor space capacity for waste reception and preparation.
According to New Earth Solutions Director of Planning, Ted Bleszynski, “We are seeing a demand for separate contracts from neighbouring local authorities who are sharing the facility at Canford. New Earth technology is specifically designed to enable modular expansion of capacity and has built-in flexibility to process both residual household and source segregated organics simultaneously. Consequently we can adapt our services to meet local authority contract
requirements and inevitable changes in the waste flow as they evolve over time.
“The New Earth technology, continues Bleszynski, “benefits from ready capability, and by being able to respond and adapt speedily to changes in market conditions, without additional cost or inconvenience to clients.
New Earth recently invested over £500,000 in what it believes to be the UK`s largest and most comprehensive emissions treatment facility, comprising of wet scrubbers and bio filters.
Each facility is fully enclosed, and highly efficient emissions
controls are a hall mark of New Earth Solutions technology, making for no outward release of odours or bio-aersols as associated with traditional composting techniques.
