New Solar Modules Power Solar Parks in EU

May 27 2014

Hanwha SolarOne (South Korea) manufacturer of high-quality, cost-competitive solar modules, today announced the delivery of 7.3 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) solar modules to German EPC contractor IdeemaSun energy GmbH. The PV modules will power a solar park in Suffolk, U.K., and a solarpark in Kelheim, Germany.

The 3.2 MWp system in Suffolk, south-east U.K., was completed as planned by the end of March. The park has been equipped with a total of 12,910 Hanwha SolarOne’s 60-cell polycrystalline modules (HSL 60 Poly), characterised by reliable performance and extended durability. Expected annual output of the solar park is 3.1 million kWh.

“The success of our projects and the long-term satisfaction of our investors is largely determined by the quality of engineering, the components used and the professional as well as quick installation," said Meik Rekowski, Managing Director at IdeemaSun energy GmbH. "Hanwha SolarOne supports us with their reliable logistics and flexible services. This makes the company an ideal partner for lasting cooperation.”

A further 4.1 MWp of PV modules from Hanwha SolarOne are being installed in Kehlheim near Regensburg, Germany. Developed by the engineers at IdeemaSun, the solar park utilises the horizontal tracking system “safeTrack Horizon” which can increase the output by up to 13% compared with fixed systems on this location. Another advantage of the tracking system is the evenly distributed power output throughout the day, contributing positively to grid stabilisation. Furthermore, less area is utilised compared to a conventional PV plant with southern orientation. Total installed capacity of the park is 8 MWp, and expected annual output is 8.75 million kWh.

“The impressive accomplishments of IdeemaSun are based on a unique business model, with expertise covering all aspects of solar installations,” said Stefan Ams, Sales Director Germany at Hanwha SolarOne GmbH. “We are proud to have contributed to their successful projects throughout Europe, and look forward to continuing our cooperation.”

Based in Bavaria, Germany, the project planner and developer IdeemaSun is offering a broad portfolio of services including maintenance, monitoring and commercial management of solar parks. The track record includes numerous high-performance solar parks and rooftop-mounted systems successfully installed in Europe.
