$7 Billion Indoor Air Filtration Market Slated to Grow 4 Percent in 2014

Nov 15 2012

Indoor Air Filter sales are expected to grow by around four percent to just over $7 billion by 2014. These predictions have come from the Air Filtration and Purification World Markets published by the McIlvaine Company (USA). Currently standing at around $6.7 billion the market includes medium efficiency filters, which make up around half of the market. This leaves the low efficiency filters losing their market share to the medium efficiency.

The high efficiency (H10-17) market is being boosted by the increasing use of these filters for gas turbine intakes. Hence not only is the intake market growing rapidly, but the percentage of the market utilizing high efficiency filters is also growing.

A number of publicly as well as privately held companies are participating in this market. Analysts expect higher performance from some of these companies that is reflected in the growth of the general market. Donaldson analysts anticipate 2013 and 2014 growth between 6%/yr and 7%/yr. Ahlstrom, on the other hand, expects lower growth but a big turnaround from the previous two years.
